National Nurses Week 2026 runs from May 6 through May 12, closing on Florence Nightingale’s birthday. It’s a week set aside to recognize the nurses who show up every single day, not for applause, but because someone genuinely needs them.
In homecare, that dedication looks a little different. There’s no hospital floor, no central nursing station.
There’s just a nurse, a patient, and a home that suddenly needs to feel safe again.
Nurses are the backbone of the entire care system, and the numbers reflect just how much weight they carry. The BLS projects over 194,500 openings for registered nurses annually through 2032, and demand is only climbing. At the same time, nearly 40% of active nurses intend to leave the workforce by 2029, and more than 138,000 have already left since 2022.
That choice matters more than most people realize. Home-based nursing isn’t a lesser version of clinical care. For patients recovering from surgery, managing complex diagnoses, or living with conditions that require skilled daily attention, a private duty nurse is often the reason they stay out of a facility altogether.
At All Heart Homecare Agency, our nurses carry that responsibility with the same standard we hold across everything we do: care for one as you would care for your loved one. Our private duty nursing services pair patients with skilled LPNs and RNs who provide one-on-one, in-home care without the noise and stress of institutional settings.
Families dealing with post-surgical recovery, chronic illness, or aging at home turn to us because they want care that’s personal, not procedural. If that sounds like what your family needs, contact us today for a free consultation.
This week, we want every nurse on our team, and every nurse across the country, to hear it plainly. What you do is seen. It is not taken for granted. And it changes lives in ways that don’t always show up in any chart.
Happy Nurses Week, 2026.
